Reliable rapid antigen test also for the detection of the delta variant

A majority of infections with the novel SARS-CoV-2 virus are currently caused by the highly contagious delta variant B.1.617.2. The Wondfo COVID-19 rapid test is an immunochromatographic antigen test (lateral flow principle) for the qualitative detection of infection with the novel SARS-CoV-2 virus. The test detects proteins (so-called antigens) in nasal or pharyngeal secretions that are typical for the pathogen and shows the result visually after only 15 to 20 minutes. The sample collection is possible in three ways:

The first application variant is a nasopharyngeal swab. The swab is inserted deep into the nostril to collect sample material from the back of the throat. The swab is left in place for a few seconds to collect enough secretion, and then it is slowly pulled out with a twisting motion.

Another option is to take a mouth-to-throat swab. Here, the swab is inserted into the posterior pharynx to collect specimen material from the area of the palatal arches and the posterior pharynx.

Alternatively, a swab can be taken from the mouth.

Alternatively, sample collection is also possible by a swab in the area of the anterior nasal wall. To do this, insert the swab only about 1.5 to 2 cm deep into the nose and take up nasal secretions with circular movements. This method is significantly less invasive than the two previous ones and is therefore ideal for children, people with impairments or other sensitive groups of people.

High reliability – even for anterior nasal swab

Reliable test results are essential to quickly break chains of infection. The Wondfo Antigen Rapid Test convinces with a very high sensitivity of 98.11 % for nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal swabs. Even when samples are taken by nasal swab, the antigen test still has a sensitivity of 97.83 %. Corona-positive persons are thus reliably identified.

False positive results are very unlikely: the specificity of the Wondfo Antigen Rapid Test is 99.72 % for nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal swabs, or 99.08 % if a nasal swab is used.
