The rapid antigen test at the cutting edge of science

This test kit is a so-called lateral flow assay that allows detection of the nucleocapsid (N) protein typical of corona virus. The test cassette contains colloidal gold that reacts with the N protein present in a positive sample. Once the test strip is saturated with the sample and the subject has a sufficiently high viral load, the test will show a positive result. If the viral load is extremely low or the subject is not infected, the test strip will not react to the N protein. Thus, the test is negative.

Each test kit has one swab each for the anterior nasal swab and for the deeper nasopharyngeal swab. Thus, test persons can choose the way of testing themselves. By means of the swab, a sample is taken from the appropriate location. The sample is dissolved in the extraction fluid provided. A few drops of the sample liquid are then placed on the test cassette. Depending on the viral load, the result will be available after 5 to 10 minutes.
