CLUNGENE® Covid-19 Antigen Rapid Test

Rapid antigen testing to identify coronapositive individuals is becoming increasingly important. The use of tests with approval for laypersons promotes infection protection in public spaces. In addition, it is possible in this way to quickly interrupt chains of infection and thus avoid hotspots. Home testing is also useful when visiting people from high-risk groups. A rapid test is also suitable for control purposes. For example, in the case of mild cold symptoms, a corona infection can be ruled out fairly reliably by means of a rapid test.

Possible applications of the CLUNGENE antigen rapid test

This pharmacist’s test has only recently received special approval for lay use. This makes it suitable for optimizing infection control in sensitive areas. These areas include daycare centers and schools, among others. However, application of the test is also conceivable in the catering industry, in companies, at events and in public institutions such as museums and public authorities. Tour operators and hoteliers can offer their guests greater safety with a rapid test. Manufacturing industries also have the option of using lay-approved tests to protect their employees from infection and keep their operations running on a permanent basis.

Easy to use, fast results

The major advantage of Corona antigen testing for laypersons is its uncomplicated handling. No special training is required to perform the rapid test professionally. A swab is taken from the nose with the swab included. This is especially for children, seniors and other sensitive groups of people more comfortable than the swab in the back of the throat. Using the reagent liquid provided, the sample is made available in the extraction tube. One then drips the extract onto the test cassette. After 15 minutes, this displays the result. The person performing the test should wear disposable gloves and a mouth-nose protection to prevent contamination of the sample.

Certified Quality

The lay test has been certified by the BfArM and the Paul Ehrlich Institute (PEI) and approved for use in the private sector. With a sensitivity of 98.5% when testing positive and a specificity of 100% when testing negative, this approved test provides very accurate results. However, if a positive result is obtained, PCR testing is strongly recommended. The test kit is available in blisters of one and five.
